A century later, within its walls the grandson of Gediminus, the king of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Vladislav II Jagiello, would celebrate his marriage with Princess Sophia Golshanska, which initiated the mighty Jagiellonian dynasty. Since the 16th century in the castle different courts took place and the polemics were conducted. The castle has been reconstructed — a tour in the castle will allow you to dive into the fascinating depths of the last millennium. Unconquered citizens preferred death to slavery: by their worships the city together with the conquerors fell into the abyss.
